Pin Oak detail

This is a detail from the top of a small guitar that I removed the original top from and replaced with a piece of clear plastic. I covered this new top with natural objects that I found on my morning walks: semi-transparent leaves and bark. Some items were donated, such as butterfly wings and snake skin. The center of the instrument (where the sound hole of the guitar would be) is car glass. The process of assembling these bits was intuitive and pretty random, but some intriguing images emerged
